Getting the perfect wedding party portrait can be as hard as herding cats, especially when it’s a large group! You have those that love the attention and want to be front and center and those that are camera shy and are only there for the picture because you ask them to be there. To help solve this problem we have 3 solutions to help make this process as easy as possible:
- Use Chairs: Chairs are an easy and simple way to organize people for your wedding party portrait so that everyone can be seen. Everyone knows where they are supposed to be, making harder for people to steal the show and or to completely hide from the picture.
- Organize and Pose: It is a good idea to do some research and decide how you would like your wedding party to be organized and how they should stand. Often, you will see wedding party portraits with the guys on one side and girls on the other side while turning in slightly toward the bride and groom, or you will see cute and fun candid shots where the wedding party is asked to line up with the bride and groom are in the center and then they all begin to walk forward.
- Draft out the Portrait: Drafting out the portrait beforehand is a great solution that will help make taking the actual portrait easier and faster. This will give you time to decide who should stand next to who so that everyone is standing in the perfect place for your picture.
