It’s June, which means we are at the peak of wedding season! If you aren’t the one getting married, then more than likely you have at least 3 wedding invitations pinned to your refrigerator. As you watch the front of your refrigerator space shrink to nothing, you have probably wondered why June is such a popular month to get married. As it turns out, the answer lies with the Romans.
In ancient Roman, June was not only the month dedicated to the ancient Roman goddess of marriage but was also considered the ideal month for women to conceive a child. If a woman conceived a child in June, then she could have the child by March and get back in shape to help out with the coming harvest.
Thankfully having a child before the harvest is no longer concerned in today’s society. Instead, the bride and groom can focus on the love they share for each other and enjoy their lives to the fullest!
