Not Your Traditional Wedding Cake

Right now, what’s “in” is anything original. More and more couples are straying from all things traditional, and they are beginning to add their own personal flair to their wedding. For example, the “traditional” wedding cake isn’t present at every wedding anymore.  Now, that’s not to say that they are completely out the window (nor do we ever want them to be), but we have gathered a few of our favorite alternatives to the norm.

1. Donut Cake

America’s favorite breakfast food is on the rise, appearing at weddings everywhere. We can’t exactly say we hate it either! Substitute your tiered, white wedding cake for layers and layers of soft, flaky donuts! You won’t regret that decision!

2. Mini Desserts

Everyone loves a good mini. So, why not make all your desserts bite size? Instead of serving just one type of cake, give your guests some options! And when they are mini, they can try multiple and not feel guilty about it!

3. Your Own Personal Cake

Why bother spending too much on a massive cake that (let’s face it) is always left with more than half to dispose of. Avoid the problem of what to do with the leftovers all together. We love the idea of having your own, personal wedding cake to cut! It’s cute and simple. Just make sure your guests have their own dessert to snack on!

4. Smores Bar

We can bet that there’s not a single person who doesn’t love smores! So, pick a dessert that appeals to all! Instead of a three tiered wedding cake, treat your guest with a three tiered smores bar. It’s a surefire way to get people talking–in a great way!
